Iron Tide Command
★★★★☆ 4.4
Iron Tide Command asks you to think like a commander, not a collector. You maneuver fleets across a grid of islands and chokepoints, and the wind and terrain genuinely change how battles play out. Rush in and you'll get flanked; wait too long and you lose the map.
The campaign eases you in with clean tutorials, then opens up into skirmishes that can last a full lunch break. I appreciate that upgrades are earned through play rather than gated behind endless grind. The pacing does spike in difficulty around the mid-campaign, so keep a couple of scout units ready.
It runs smoothly even on my older phone, which for a strategy game with this many units on screen is no small thing.
What we liked
- Positioning-driven fleet battles
- Clean tutorials, real depth later
- Runs well on older hardware
